Victorian villa brought into the 21st century

The client approached RAL to design a contemporary extension to the side and rear of their substantial victorian villa. The aim of the development was to create an open plan lounge and living space stepping out onto a large terrace. The challenge facing this project is its location within a conservation area, however such constraints have produced a sympathetic design that sits well within the historic location whilst creating the large multi use indoor and outdoor living space set out in the brief.
