This project presented the practice with a challenge to produce a family sized home on a plot restricted by its location within a conservation area on a sloping site. The resulting design has a symmetrical front elevation with rooms arranged around an impressive entrance hall and stair. Full height glazing to the front elevation allows light to flood into the main entrance space, off which all rooms radiate. The roof space is occupied by a luxurious master bedroom suite, with a large private terrace overlooking the tennis courts beyond. The rear of the house offers maximum access to the garden which features a single storey pavilion housing a games room, study, sauna and gym accessed directly from the garden.
