The client approached RAL to design a new farmhouse, along with replacement stables and agricultural buildings. The site is currently occupied by a collection of buildings of varying quality. Planning restrictions apply due to the development’s location in the green belt, and to this end we have devised a scheme which reduces the volume of the buildings by 5%, and employs materials used in the existing structures to ensure a sympathetic response. The project is awaiting planning approval.
