A mixed use conversion of an existing clubhouse, along with the development of stables and assorted outbuildings into a residential scheme.

The client approached RAL to address issues they where having with their clubhouse. RAL devised a scheme which transformed the existing building into a larger, more welcoming space which incorporated new changing rooms for male and female members, previously housed in a portakabin, along with an enlarged lounge at ground floor, and new dining room / bar and roof terrace at first floor level.

In addition to this RAL suggested the development of the stables to the rear, a selection of victorian buildings which had architectural merit and could provide the club with a sizeable profit. The client was introduced to a developer and the scheme for the conversion of 6 buildings into mews style properties went ahead. The style of the clubhouse and residential properties took their design lead from the existing architecture, utilising weatherboarding, red brick and terracotta roof tiles to ensure that the new blended seamlessly with the old.
