BMW / Harley Davidson Showroom

RAL were commissioned to design a double height showroom with offices and meeting rooms at mezzanine level. The new structure was to house BMW motorbikes, and was to compliment the adjoining Harley Davidson showroom.

The materials employed in the new structure give it a sense of individual corporate identity, as is the case with the surrounding car and motorcycle dealerships. Glazing is kept to a minimum on all elevations other than the front elevation, this is to emphasise the prominence upon entering the building. Dark grey window & curtain-walling frames contrast visually with lighter grey cladding panels. Grey and black brick corner piers with grey cladding conceals integrated roller shutters at ground floor level to increase security whilst limiting the visual impact often associated with wall mounted roller shutter lintels.
